Are you a college student?
If you are in college, we want to ensure you're able to get your foster cat(s) to the vet, PetSmarts, adoption events, and to our Cat Medical Specialist who is located in Sharonville. Do you have a method of transportation to do so?
Once you begin fostering a cat, that cat stays with the assigned foster until adopted. When summer and Christmas breaks arrive, are you planning to stay in Cincinnati? Or is your goal to foster during the school year only?

YOUR HOUSEHOLD

Does anyone in your household have cat allergies?
Are your pets spayed/neutered?
Do you rent or own your home?

EXPERIENCE & PREFERENCES

Have you fostered animals before?
What age of cats are you open to fostering? Check all that apply.
Are you open to fostering pregnant cats?
Are you open to fostering moms & litters?
Are you open to fostering cats that need socialization?
Do you have the ability to segregate your foster animals from your own animals?

We have adoption events the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month from 12-3pm (typically at one of various PetSmart locations). This is an opportunity to showcase and answer questions about your fosters. We also put the cats/kittens in the Adoption Cages at PetSmart (Tri-County and West Chester) for more exposure to people, for 3-4 weeks at a time, after which they return to the foster home if not adopted. The other way we showcase the foster animals is to put their profiles on-line and fosters meet with people who have filled out an application and have been approved. We recommend meeting in a neutral place, such as a PetSmart at which we have privileges.

Can you accept the fact that some animals will not survive or may have to be euthanized and that this decision is up to HART
Are you willing to participate in these activities and can you accept that your foster cats kittens may be placed in the PetSmart Adoption Cages at HARTs discretion
Do you understand that anyone interested in adopting your foster animals (including yourself) must go through the standard adoption process, and approval of candidates and placement of animals is up to HART (of course, we welcome your referrals)

REFERENCES

Do we have permission to run a background check if we feel it necessary?
Would you agree to a home visit?

I have answered the questions above truthfully and completely. I indemnify and hold HART and the volunteers and board members of HART free and harmless from all liability arising out of any and all claims, demands, losses, damages, action, judgement of every kind and description which may occur to or be suffered by me, members of my household, or any third parties by reason of activities arising out of this agreement. By submitting this application, I agree to the above.
